Top IITs, IIMs to join hands to aid start-up ecosystem
The word YUKTI stands for “Young India Unleashing Knowledge & Innovation”. It is a flagship initiative by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), Government of India.
The YUKTI Innovation Repository at the IIC Institution level is created in response to the growing need to recognize, promote, and nurture innovative ideas, prototypes, and entrepreneurial initiatives across Indian higher education institutions. By providing a centralized digital platform, the YUKTI Innovation Repository acts as a pipeline of ideas, innovations and start-ups which systematically catalog, support, and showcase the diverse innovations emerging from academic institutions in India.
The YUKTI Innovation Repository plays a critical role in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in India’s academic ecosystem. This initiative aligns and strengthens the national priorities like the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) initiative and ongoing efforts to position India as a global innovation hub.
So far more than 2130 IIC institutions have developed YUKTI innovation repositories in campuses having a total deposit of 1,84,000+ ideas, innovations and start-ups out of which 96000+ Ideas, 60000+ Innovations, and 9800+ Start-ups.
